Inner Mongolia Bureau of quality and technical supervision has recently reached a preliminary cooperation intention with telecom operators, elevator manufacturers and other relevant institutions on the construction of elevator remote monitoring system. At present, it is studying specific matters such as terminal configuration, monitoring platform construction and technical connection. The elevator remote monitoring system is expected to be put into use in the whole region within this year.

With the rapid development of economy and society, the number of elevators in Inner Mongolia surged, with the growth rates of 47.7% and 46.4% in 2010 and 2011 respectively. At present, there are 21500 elevators in the region. However, due to improper use and maintenance, faults such as closing people, clamping people, squatting at the bottom and flushing at the top also occur from time to time. According to statistics, there are many complaints about elevator quality, installation quality, use and maintenance to the quality supervision department of Inner Mongolia. In particular, the complaints caused by inadequate elevator maintenance account for 80% of the total reported complaints of safety violations of special equipment.

According to the introduction, the elevator remote monitoring system uses sensors to collect elevator operation data, carries out abnormal data analysis through the microprocessor, transmits it to the data processing server through the network, and realizes the comprehensive elevator management platform with the functions of elevator fault alarm, trapped person rescue, daily management, quality evaluation and hidden danger prevention through the Internet of things perception application platform.

In case of elevator failure, the remote monitoring system can find the failure at the first time, timely and automatically notify the monitoring center of the failure, and call full-time maintenance personnel to eliminate the failure at the same time. It is understood that because the system can store the daily operation data and daily failure records of the elevator, the manufacturer, user, maintenance unit and supervision department can have a comprehensive grasp and disposal of the operation of a specific elevator within a period of time, so as to ensure the safe operation of the elevator.
