Solutions to common faults of RTU (upper computer fault)

Common upper computer faults of RTU

1、 A white box appears in the data display area of an instrument on the upper computer

First, check whether the instrument has local display function.

1. If the instrument has local display function, first check whether the local display is normal;

Local display is normal

Open the RTU cabinet and check the channel of AI card corresponding to the table. The channel is abnormal and red. Remove the RTU signal line, disconnect the instrument circuit, simulate a 4-20mA current signal with the signal generator and send it directly to the card and contact the main control room;

◆ if the data display of the upper computer is still abnormal, the channel is broken;

① If the table does not involve relevant monitoring equipment, change the table to the standby channel of AI card, modify the configuration of RTU card and install it;

② If the table involves shut in, first inform the staff to wear the spare cap and remove the RTU shut in signal line, then connect the table to the standby channel, modify the RTU card configuration and lower it, then restore the shut in signal line and notify the staff to remove the spare cap;

◆ if the upper computer data display is normal and corresponds to the current value, the cable from the card channel to the instrument wiring terminal block is broken, and the wiring shall be replaced immediately;

No local display

Open the back cover of the instrument and measure whether the terminal is supplied with 24V DC;

◆ if there is no 24V DC, check whether the fuse of the circuit connected to the instrument is intact;

① The fuse is intact, and check the line from the instrument terminal in the cabinet to the instrument;

A. If the line is connected, the instrument fails. If the meter does not involve relevant monitoring equipment, disconnect the fuse or terminal wiring in the cabinet and replace the instrument of the same model; If the table involves relevant monitoring equipment, first inform the staff to wear the spare cap, remove the signal line of RTU monitoring equipment, and then replace the instrument;

B. If the line is blocked, the cable may be short circuited or grounded. Find and deal with it. If there is still no display, replace the instrument according to the above steps;

② If the insurance is damaged, replace the insurance of the same model. If it is still not displayed, check according to the above steps;

◆ if there is 24V DC, replace the instrument according to the above steps;

Display garbled code, and replace the instrument according to the above steps.

2. If the instrument has no local display function, open the back cover of the instrument and measure whether the instrument is supplied with 24V DC;

A. With 24V DC, measure the loop current value;

① If there is no current of 4-20mA, the instrument is broken. Replace the instrument of the same model; If the table involves well shut in, first inform the gas production team to wear the spare cap, remove the signal line of RTU monitoring equipment, then replace the instrument, then restore the signal line of monitoring equipment and inform the staff to remove the spare cap;

② If there is 4-20mA current, disconnect the instrument circuit, simulate a 4-20mA current signal with the signal generator, and directly send it to the card to contact the main control room;

If the data display of the upper computer is still abnormal, the channel is broken;

◆ if the table does not involve monitoring equipment, change the table to the standby channel of AI card, modify the configuration of RTU card and lower it;

◆ if the table involves monitoring equipment, first inform the staff to wear the spare cap and remove the signal line of RTU monitoring equipment, then connect the table to the standby channel, modify the RTU card configuration and lower it, then restore the signal line of monitoring equipment and notify the staff to remove the spare cap;

If the upper computer data display is normal and corresponds to the current value, the cable from the card channel to the instrument wiring terminal block is broken, and the wiring shall be replaced immediately;

B. If there is no 24V DC, check whether the fuse of the circuit connected to the instrument is intact. If the fuse is intact, replace the line from the wiring terminal of the instrument in the cabinet to the instrument.

2、 A white box appears in the instrument data display area of the upper computer

When a white box appears in the data display area of some instruments on the upper computer, first judge whether these instruments are connected to the hydraulic control cabinet, FSC cabinet or RTU cabinet, and then immediately rush to the well pad where the instrument is located. If the instrument involves monitoring equipment, inform the staff to go together.

All these instruments are connected to the hydraulic control cabinet. Check the AI board card of the hydraulic control cabinet according to the operating procedures of the hydraulic control cabinet. If there is no problem with the AI card

1. For new wells, check the communication cable from the hydraulic control cabinet to the RTU redundant switcher

◆ if the cable is normal, check the serial ports at both ends of the cable, insert the cable connector in the hydraulic control cabinet into the standby serial port of SCADA pack controller in the hydraulic control cabinet, insert the cable connector into other serial ports of TSR in RTU cabinet and configure it. For RTU cabinet without TSR, insert the cable connector into other serial ports of BB redundant switcher and contact the main control room. If it has not been recovered, replace these serial ports respectively, Determine the faulty serial port and replace the equipment where the serial port is located

◆ disconnect the cable, wrap the cable and contact the main control room. If it is not recovered, replace the communication cable and contact the main control room. If it is not recovered, solve it according to the above steps

2. For old wells, Ping TSR;

◆ if Ping fails, check the network cable from TSR to BB switch with network cable tester;

① If the network cable is normal, contact the main control room, indicating that the wellhead communication may be temporarily interrupted. Replace other interfaces of BB switch, and then execute the ping command;

A. If the Ping is enabled, replace the BB switch;

B. If Ping fails, replace TSR;

② . if the network cable is blocked, replace the network cable, and then check according to the above steps;

◆ if Ping is enabled, check the communication cable from the hydraulic control cabinet to TSR according to the above steps;

3. If all these instruments are connected to the FSC cabinet, execute the ping command to the FSC at the engineer station;

◆ if the Ping fails, replace the Ethernet port, D-Link hub, coaxial cable and FSC plant scape communication card of the D-Link hub access switch respectively, determine the fault and replace the faulty equipment;

◆ if Ping is successful, check according to FSC operating procedures;

4. If all these instruments are connected to RTU cabinet, execute ping command to BB communication CPU;

◆ if the Ping is not available, contact the main control room, indicating that the wellhead communication may be temporarily interrupted. Replace other interfaces of BB switch, and then execute the ping command;

(1) if Ping is available, replace BB switch;

(2) if Ping fails, replace the BB communication CPU;

◆ if the Ping is successful, it shall be handled as fault I.

3、 An instrument on the upper computer is out of range

When it is found that the value indicated by an instrument on the upper computer exceeds the range, rush to the well pad where the instrument is located immediately. If the instrument involves monitoring equipment, inform the staff to go together.

Open the RTU cabinet and check the channel where the instrument is located. It is red under abnormal conditions. Measure whether the instrument wiring terminal has 24V DC. Measure the loop current. The loop current will be greater than 20mA,

1. Open the back cover of the instrument, disconnect the wiring, and measure whether the voltage output to the instrument is normal;

◆ if normal, replace the instrument according to the above steps;

◆ in case of abnormality, the cable may be short circuited or grounded. Check the cable and deal with it. If the voltage is still not normal, replace the cable first. When the voltage is normal and the reading of the instrument is still abnormal, replace the instrument according to the above steps;

2. Before the instrument is connected to the circuit, use the signal generator to simulate a 4-20mA current signal and send it to the card and contact the main control room. If the data display of the upper computer is still abnormal, the channel is broken and the channel is replaced.
